CFPB Readies Debt Collection Rules for Long Overdue Tech Update
Debt collectors will be able to text and email consumers, but face limits on the number of times they can call them, under new rules expected from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the coming days.
Just how often collectors will be able to contact people, and how often they will be able to use emails or texts to do so, are just a few of the questions that the CFPB will answer when it finalizes the first set of federal rules for debt collection.
